If she signs the form 8332, he gets the $ 3400 exemption and the child tax credit. The summer $ 300 rebate would go to him if the child is younger than 17 on 12/31/2008. Meanwhile, she jkeeps HOH eligibility, EIC eligibility and child care eligibility.

If she doesn't sign another form 8332 next year, she'd claim the child in 2008 and get a second chance at the $ 300 rebate then. He wouldn't be asked to pay it back. (Known problem with parents who alternate who claims the child.)

Summer refund? Are you talking about the stimulus rebate? Yes, whoever claims the child for 2007 will get that.

If you mean the rebate, yes he will if she is under the age of 17. If you daughter is not going to claim the child she may as well let someone get the tax benefit.

Do you know for sure that the girl takes a bath at least?
One of the signs of molestation is not bathing, it's why I'm asking.
People will purposely smell bad thinking their violator will leave them alone.
Other than that, she will just have to tell the girl, make it sound like someone else said it.

You daughter shouldn't. Or do you really expect a 12-year-old to find a tactful way of saying that when you, an adult, can't even seem to manage it? As I recall, "12-year-old girl" is not synonymous with "tact." This really isn't even any of your business. She's young yet and her parents might not allow her to use deodorant. It's not a necessity until puberty after all. She may not be showering enough. This is her parents' job, not yours. So grin and bear it and stock up on air freshener for the car.

Be creative. Take them shopping like to Walmart or somewhere and go in the deodorant part. Then, have your daughter start a topic about which one she likes to wear and hopefully the friend can join in and say which one she gets. Then, just buy it for her.
